Gas to the burners is routed from the tank, to hard pipe and up to the burners.
We opted to have the propane tank attached to the stand via flexible hose and from there to the two burners through gas pipe, through needle valves and to the burners using flexible tubing.
This picture shows the burner with the flexible pipe. Be sure and put copious amounts of Teflon putty on the connections. Do not use Teflon tape with gas fittings.
You can also see the pizo igniters attached directly to the burner. After some research and questions to fellow brewers, this seemed OK. After five or so brews, we'll be replacing these. I think the idea is valid; however, connecting them directly to the burner has, well, burned them up. I think we'll go for some kind of swinging standoff.
A final picture showing the needle valve and the igniter button. The heat of the burner tends to loosen the lock nut on the bottom of the burner and push it a bit out of line. I know, but when it comes to the stand, I'm a bit of a perfectionist.
It's done! Today, the 22nd of December we broke it in. Over the next few days I'll try and get all of the information updated about or newest addtiion.
Thanks to Donald Balzan who welded the stand. Steen DeWalt was instrumental with finishing the project.
